While the online poker world was busy playing the biggest online poker event at PokerStars- World Championship of Online Poker(WCOOP), asian poker players came down to Macau to participate in the Asian Championship of Poker(ACOP) Platinum Series VI’. The main event of this series finished yesterday with the prize pool of $156,620 and winner Alexandre Chieng took down $36,004.
The ACOP Platinum Series was a 4-day Live Poker tournament and was hosted by PokerStars LIVE at the City of Dreams. The tournament featured 3 tourneys with buy-in as low as $130. Due to the small stake tables, the event attracted Poker players from all over the world who made it a successful one.
The event 1 of this series took place on 25th of September, which was of Pot Limit Omaha format having features of rebuy and re-entry and was won by Jian Yang. Event 2 was of No Limit Hold’em format that kicked off on Friday September 26th. The event 3 was the Main Event which was a 2 day event with the final culminating on September 28th i.e. yesterday. Event 4, No Limit Hold’em Bounty Event took place on September 28th at 3 PM, which was a one day event of this series and Rong Xia was the winner. Sadly, the Indians could not have a field day in this event, the only Indian cashing was Praveen Dwarkanath who won $877 on 5th position of Event 1: Pot Limit Omaha – Deep Stack.
The winners of these 3 freezout events (excluding the Main event) were given the cash prizes, whereas the top 10 finishers of Main Event will play ACOP Platinum Series playoff online on 5th October along with top 10 winners of all ACOP Platinum series that took place in 2014. Here, the winners could win the prize pool of HK$100,000 Main Event seat that will start on 24th October.
