The First Limit Hold’em event concluded at the WSOP 2013 here today as Former Caddie Brent Wheeler won his first WSOP Bracelet at Event #10, $1500 Limit Hold’em. Wheeler would think of it as third time lucky since this was his third final table performance at the WSOP. Previously he has finished 4th and 7th in Limit and Mixed Games Event.
He defeated collective Canadian hopes of getting a fourth WSOP 2013 bracelet as Mark Mierkalns finished second to win $118,000. The Canadian tried his best but was outlasted by a resilient Wheeler. A total of 645 poker players has registered for this event creating a prize pool of $870,000. It was the top 72 which got payouts including notable poker pros like Nick Schulman, Jeff Shulman and Alex Queen.
In other news at the WSOP 2013, the last 14 have been drawn in Event #11, $2500 NL Hold’em(Six Handed). This has been one event which has seen a terrific second day of play with pros fighting to the finish. Levi Berger leads the field with over 1,400,000 chips while Tuan Le is second with around 850,000 chips. Former bracelet winner Scott Clements is also on the hunt for another win as he sits third in chips stack.
Bracelet winners will emerge in 3 events as days play starts on Day 9 of the 2013 WSOP in a few hours.
