Day 26 at the 2013 WSOP saw two unsung heroes of poker crowned as champions with Jared Hamby and Steve Gross winning WSOP Bracelets. Hamby won gold earlier in the day as he came from being a short stack to winner in Event 40, $1500 NL Hold’em defeating Peter Hengsakul. In Event 41, Gross who has had a recent dry spell won over 400 entrants capturing top spot in $5,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed.
Hamby sat at a final table which didn’t feature any big names and won $525,272. The 31 year old poker pro is best known for his online poker exploits and topped a field of 2161 players. Allan Cunningham and Kara Scott were notable poker pros who finished ITM in this event.

Gross has featured on four WSOP final tables in previous years and fallen short many times. 42 players cashed in this event including Chad Brown and Daniel Negreanu. This six handed final table also didn’t feature any previous champions and Salman Behbehani, runners up here recorded his second WSOP 2013 final table appearance.
