Ana Marquez has grabbed the title of Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event on the final day of this three days event at M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas. The championship event with a buy-in of $2,500 was offering $5,00,000 as guarantee attracted many renowned poker players. From a field of 631 players on the day one of the main event, Marquez survived and proved her might throughout the three days. On the final table she faced Ryan Tepen for battle heads-up and received a prize money of $320,189 after defeating him
On the final day of the event, Marquez was right at the bottom of the remaining players but as game progressed, she climbed up steadily and finally grabbed the title. The finalists on the final table were all long time poker pros and renowned poker stars. With the likes of Ben Plamer, Sam Stein and Max Greenwood in the contention, the journey was never easy for the new champion.
Some world famous poker players who fell short of making it to the final table includes Jim Collopy (20th), Samantha Cohen (18th), Prattyush Buddiga (17th), Frank Rusnak (16th), Steve Barshak (14th), Tyler Cornell (13th) and Griffin Benger (10th).
Marquez was very thrilled after winning the championship as this is her first major win in professional poker. After winning she expressed herself and said, “I can’t believe I won, everything was so perfect”. Marquez’s pocket Jacks turned out to be her final hand as they won her the event against Tepen’s Ace-King.
