Norway’s Henrik Tollefsen overcame a tough final table to win the Main Event of the 2013 APT Macau at the StarWorld Hotels here yesterday. He defeated John Conkright to win the prestigious trophy as well as HK$ 1 Million in prize money.
The Norwegian poker player had started the eight handed final table in second spot behind Xiao ‘Cheryl’ Peng. But he managed his poker game well to defeat a stack double his size and win top honours. The HK$25,000 buy-in Main Event had attracted 193 entrants and had a final table from across the continents.
Hui Wen was placed third behind Conkright and the poker players pocketed HK$422,000 and HK$714,000 respectively. APT Macau is the most awaited leg of the Asian Poker Tours and in the 2013 version, around 800 poker players have participated in the 14 events.
APT now moves to Korea where action will run between 18-23 August at the Ramada Hotel, Jeju.
