Biography –
JCTran is a Vietnamese-American professional poker player, residing at Sacramento, California. Born in Vietnam, Justin Cuong Van Tran, is the youngest of all his siblings. His family moved to the United States, when he was quite young. Tran spent his childhood in US & completed his high education. He completed his graduation & received a degree in Business Management Information Systems from California State University, Sacramento.
The poker pro used to play poker at various Local Card Rooms of Sacramento. His favorite Poker game is No Limit Texas Hold’em. Tran built his bankroll when he played $9/$18 game at Capitol Casino in Sacramento. It was his first winning amount which made him think of taking poker up as a profession.
Tran has managed to finish in money at many prestigious poker tournaments like World Poker Finals (2004), L.A. Poker Classic (2004), Borgata Poker Open (2005) etc. He has won the World Series of Poker bracelet winner twice. Beside this, he also won the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) Main Event in 2006.
His poker career has been an inspiring journey for all poker enthusiasts. He went through many ups & down in his poker career but never gave up. On March 28, he won his first WPT title, the World Poker Challenge, earning $683,473 & won the title of World Poker Tour’s “Player of the Year”.
Tran admitted that he has been a great admirer of Jerry Patton. Beside this, the poker- pro likes to spend his leisure time playing Golf and doing Fishing. His ambition is to be a respected poker player in tournaments and cash games. He wants to win consistently year in and year out. Apart from this, Tran is also actively involved in charity donations.
Tran is the headliner of the 2013 November Nine. In chip lead, he will be the most experienced and known face when action begins on the final table on November 4th, 2013.

- 2006, WCOOP Main event, $2,500 no limit Hold’em: $670,000.
- 2007, L.A. Poker Classic, finished second in Main Event winning $1,177,000
- 2008 WSOP, $1500 NL Hold’em, Won the Bracelet and $$631,170
- 2009 WSOP, Tran captured his second bracelet for winning the $2,500 Pot-limit Omaha event.
- Tran also finished 2nd in a World Series of Poker circuit event, winning $251,920.
