Daniel Brits overcame a huge chip disadvantage to defeat Final table chip Leader Eugene Du Plessis and win the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic in South Africa here yesterday. He has now recorded his name in the WPT Champions Club and also won the top money of $132,128.
Dominik Nitsche who was looking to create history here by trying to win back to back titles at WPT SA had to be satisfied in fourth spot. Third place was won by Rob Fenner. The final table has started with Du Plessis holding almost 50% of the chips in play and thus with a huge chip advantage. Brits was second in chip strength when Level 25 started on the final table but he ultimately overcame to win the title.
