After nine days of the exciting action, the Asian Poker Tour ( APT) Philippines III 2016 ended last week at Resorts World Manila with its concluding Deep Stack Hyper Turbo, which was won by Korea’s In Chul Sin, who took down $67,660 and the trophy. Sin captured his first-ever championship title, besting a tough field of 186 players. Runner-up finisher was Malaysia’s Jin Yong, who converted his Main Event satellite ticket into whopping $ 38,970 prize money. 
India’s Dhaval Mudgal and Kunal Patni in Side Events
The APT Philippines 2016 III proved to be a successful outing for Indian contingent. Adda52 pro Kunal Patni had two cashes, first finishing 9th in the $550 Monster Stack( event 13) for $1,630 and then he again finished in the 10th place in the $330 Super Deep Stack Turbo ( event 17) for $1,120. Another Indian pro Dhaval Mudgal cashed three events including a first-place title at the MSW ( Mega Sports World).
$1,650 Main Event
The last two days of the APT Philippines 2016 saw some gruelling action, as the players seemed aggressive to make the money. Among 39 survivors on Day 3, Iori Yogo was the first to cash at 27th place. He was followed by Dhanesh Chainani who finished at the 17th place for $3,250 and Japan-based Rajesh Jiandoni finishing in the seventh place at the final table for $10,010. The eventual winner In Chul Sin began at the six-handed table, eliminating some tough rivals. Sin kept collecting pots until the heads up with Malaysia’s Jin Yong. The final hand saw both players go all-in on the flop dJ c5 d5 , with Yong having dQ-hQ and Sin with cJ-c9. The turn c6 and river cA gave Sin the winning flush and championship title with a whopping $67,660 payout.

Vietnam’s Linh Tran Wins the Monster Stack (Event13)
The winner of the previous APT High Roller Event, Linh Tran continues to win the bigger prizes. This time again, he won the highly popular Monster Stack by defeating a strong field of 110 players. He took home $13,610 in the first place prize money. The day 2 of Monster Stack began with 19 survivors wherein India’s Kunal Patni final tabled the event and ended finishing at the 9th place for $1,630. Heads-up saw Tran against Japan’s Motoki Jinno wherein both players went all-in on a flop s6 s7 h5 with Tran holding hA-cQ and Jinno having cA-c7. The turn was the neutral sJ, but the river hQ gave Tran the title, thus pushing Jinno into the runner-up position.
Jan Funabashi Wins $550 No Limit Hold’em (Event15)
The $550 No Limit Hold’em attracted 45 entries, leading to the total prize pool money of $21,820. The event saw the heads-up between Japan’s Jun Funabashi and USA’s Ron Manning. Both players went all-in pre-flop with Manning holding cQ-hQ and Funabashi having cA dK. The board came out d7, sJ, sA, c8 sK, thus making Funabashi the winner of the event.
Samad Rizavi Wins $330 Super Deep Stack Turbo (Event 17)
The four-time APT POY champion for 2012-2015, UK’s Sam Razavi didn’t walk empty handed. He won the Super Deep Stack Turbo Event, taking home$7,130. Kunal Patni once again cashed, finishing at the 10th place and taking home $1,120. Sam Razavi also cashed out in four more events, inching him closer to the current POY leader Japan’s Iori Yogo in the APT POY 2016 Race.
Flipino JC Sayo Wins Two Side Events at the APT Philippines 2016
Side events proved big for Flipino young gun JC Sayo, who won two side events- No Limit Hold’em Day 1 and the crowd puller Head Hunter Event. He also ran deep at the Main Event, finishing at the 14th place. There was also the $2,200 High Roller Event that was won by Germany’s Steffen Endres who defeated Japan’s Aso Seitaro at the heads up. Finally, came the Deep Stack Hyper Turbo event with 77 entries and $ 7,470 in prize pool money where Philippine’s Mike Takayama emerged victor. He defeated Harold Ruaya at the heads-up round.

The Asian Poker Tour Poker Cruise 2016 will be held from September 29 – October 2, 2016 at the Arc de Triomphe VIP Room on board the Rex Fortune Cruise which is docked in Kowloon Bay.
