It is the time of the year when poker eyes are fixed on the Aussie Millions Poker Championship, one of the major poker festivals that takes place annually in Australia. The festival began yesterday on January 11 with the AFL legend Billy Brownless and Crown Poker TD Joel Williams welcoming poker players to the big festival in Melbourne.
Running from January 11-30, the 2017 Aussie Millions includes the official gold bracelet event, satellites and various cash games, along with the daily tournaments running for 20 days. The poker festival has something for everyone with a total of 26 exciting tournaments in varied formats, including No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha events and several mixed poker variants formats.
The 2017 Aussie Millions kicked off yesterday with A$1,150 No-Limit Hold’em, which had a guaranteed prize pool of A$1 million. The poker festival has various amazing events and will reach its pinnacle point with the seven-day A$10,600 Main Event starting from Sunday January 22 and continueing ahead through Sunday 30 January. The three-day A$100,000 Challenge of the Aussie Millions will also begin on the same day. Later, there will be A$250,000 Challenge from January 29-30 to conclude the first major poker festivals on the 2017 calendar.
This year’s Aussie Millions too is expected to attract a large number of players from various parts of the world. “The 2017 Aussie Millions will again be the biggest and best to date, as effectively one of the top poker majors and a favourite amongst some of the most renowned players in the world. The stage has never been brighter, and the team are all hard at work to make the next event the biggest and best yet,” said Aussie Millions Tournament Director, Joel Williams.
