The Day 1B of the 2017 Aussie Millions AU $10,000 Main Event in the Crown Poker Room ended last night with Italian Pro Mustapha Kanit leading 372 survivors into Day 2 with 215,000 Chips. The event attracted a record 712 entries, up from last year’s 732. The Day 1A saw Sam Higgs leading the way with 107,900 in chips, but the story on Day1B changed with birthday boy Kanit emerging as the chip lead. When the clock ticked past midnight, his birthday began with a mountain of chips as a gift on his birthday. He dominated the table all through Day1B, picking up a few bluffs and winning crucial hands and finally came to the top at the end of the play for Day 1B.
Mustapha Kanit, who finished 2nd in last year’s historical European Poker tour (EPT) Super High Roller Event, will be joined by Ben Lai and Koray Aldemir who are holding the 2nd and 3rd spot with 204,700 and 189,500 in chips. Joining Kanit for Day 2 will also be Rhys Jones who bagged up 159,800 by the end of play. The day proved good for him, as things continued to trend well for him throughout the day. He eliminated some crucial players to become 6th among the chip leads.
Players who are still in the hunt from yesterday’s runners include Andrew Hinrichsen (105,600), Jeff Rossiter (94,000), Billy Argyros (85,700), Ryan D’Angelo (68,400), Dario Sammartino (68,300), Alex Lynskey (62,200), Terrence Chan (58,900), Tyron Krost (48,500), Ryan Otto (45,000), Didier Guerin (44,700), Jarred Graham (22,000), Darryll Fish (18,000), Michael Addamo (12,100) and Liam O’Rourke (8,300). The Aussie Millions Main Event Day2 is now running at Crown Poker in Melbourne, Australia.
