Poker in India has seen several amazing developments over the last few months and the latest is Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba signing up India’s largest poker site Adda52.com as its first celebrity pro. Minissha will join the Adda52 pro team of talented players featuring Nikita Luther, Kunal Patni, Amit Jain and Tarun Goyal. Very soon, she will be representing Adda52 in WPT 500 Aria poker tournament in Las Vegas this year.
Minissha Lamba is a famous Bollywood actress known for her sizzling performances in various Bollywood films. Born on 18 January 1985 in a Haryanvi Jat family, she is a native of Delhi and has graduated in English (Hons.) from the University of Delhi. Initially, she wanted to be a journalist but landed up in Bollywood. She debuted her Bollywood career with the film Yahan. Her other notable films include Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.(2007), Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008), Well Done Abba (2009), and Bheja Fry 2 (2011). In 2014, Lamba also featured as one of the contestants on Bigg Boss 8. Her upcoming film is Kannada, a romance thriller to be directed by Sameer Hanchate & released in 2018.
Minissha picked up poker when her friends from abroad introduced her to it. According to her, a couple of friends came down from abroad and got her introduced to the game of poker, which she initially found a bit complicated but later when her friends explained it more, she found it amazing. Later, she started travelling to various parts of India to play poker. Today, Minissha is a well-known face at the felts. She has been playing the mind game of poker for the last seven years. She has made several appearances in India’s prestigious poker tournaments including India Poker Championship (IPC) and Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT). However, her poker talent came into the limelight back in 2011 when she finished 4th in INR 15K Weekend Kickoff Tournament at India Poker Championship.
