Yesterday was a big day on Adda52 as the poker site hosted its flagship tournament – 30 Lac GTD Mega Suits. The event that featured INR 5,500 buy-in drew a field of 547 entries (215 re-entries). The tournament starting at 5 pm finally concluded at 2:01 am today morning with the young gun – Akshay Nasa finally taking it down after a long grind of 9 hours for a hefty INR 7,20,000.
The 2nd to finish in this mega event was Sarvesh Sharma aka ‘playhereforsure13’. He took home a cool INR 4.2 Lac for his runner-up finish. On his way to the victory, Nasa defeated a star-studded final table that featured the likes of Sahil Agarwal aka ‘Bhaijiii’ (4th for INR 2.25 Lac), Romit Advani aka ‘ft83’ (5th for INR 1.5 Lac), Akash Malik aka ‘profishnal’ (6th for INR 1,05,000) and this year’s WPT Vietnam Main Event winner – Dhaval Mudgal aka ‘dirtyzoso’, who finished 9th for INR 45,000.
“It was a tough FT with lots of regs but we got down to heads-up very quickly with super fast eliminations in top 5. 2018 has been great overall, looking forward to a better 2019,” said Nasa after his win.
A total of 55 players paid in this high-value tournament with a min-cash of INR 13,500. Some other notables who made money were Siddharth Karia aka ‘skaria1’ (13th for INR 30K), Gayle Storm 3.0 winner – Sanish Chhabra aka ‘sanish21’ (21st for INR 22.5K), the past Mega Suits winner – Gokul Raj aka ‘gokoolered’ (23rd for INR 22.5K), the recent Adda52 Millions winner – Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’ (24th for INR 22.5K) and Abhishek Garg aka ‘thegrinder’ (33rd for INR 19,500). Adda52 Team Pros – Kunal Patni and Tarun Goyal ran deep and finished 41st and 35th respectively.
Akshay Nasa’s 2018 Journey
With this win in Mega Suits, Nasa, who plays under his online name ‘vibaks’ on Adda52, has added yet another score to his already impressive resume. While he has won several tournaments on other major sites, Adda52 has been the biggest hunting ground for him. He started the year in style by notching up a couple of runner-up finishes in Whale and Adda52 Millions in February. He then followed up these scores with FT finishes in Whale, Adda52 Millions, Roar and Godfather.
In May this year, Nasa cashed out in PayCheck and then went on to make a couple of FT finishes in Whale along with the final table finishes in Godfather and Judwaa. These scores were followed by his Juice, Whale and Judwaa wins, plus his runner-up finishes in Hitman and Judwaa in June.
The month of July saw Nasa winning Adda52’s Crazy Leaderboard VI, Adda52 Millions, Sunday Masters, plus a couple of wins in Night Riders & Beast. He also finished 3rd in Whale 6-Max.
Continuing his momentum, he made a couple of FT finishes in Godfather. That is not all, he also made it to the FT in other key tournaments – Hitman and Whale 6-Max. Then, came September and the player started it by winning Beast and making FT finishes in Judwaa, beast and Adda52 Millions. The player ended the month in style by winning Whale 6-Max and Adda52 Millions.
October saw Nasa finishing runner-up in Adda52 Millions and winning Maverick. The crazy run continued through November and December ahead as the player notched up some more notable scores. Just two days back, he won Whale and he followed up that score with his win in Mega Suits last night. We congratulate Nasa for his amazing journey and wish him all the luck ahead!
