Holding more than $26.6 million in live earnings and wins in some of the world’s biggest poker tournaments, Bryn Kenney is one of the best players today. And he cemented that reputation just a couple of days ago by shipping the record-breaking 2019 edition of the Aussie Millions Main Event.
The A$10,600 buy-in event attracted a record-breaking 822-strong field to generate a whopping prize pool of A$8.22 million. Kenney was the player to earn the largest share of that amount, but overall the top 88 finishers received their share of the prizepool, min-cashes starting from A$15,600.
Towards the end, Kenney made a 3-way deal with the FT chip leader Mike Del Vecchio (2nd) and local pro Andrew Hinrichsen (3rd) for A$ 1,272,162 and A$ 1,097,739 respectively.
As mentioned, Kenney’s total live earnings have now gone to more than $26.6 million. Aside from his latest poker victory, the player has previously won a WSOP gold bracelet, a PCA $100,000 Super High Roller, and a PCA $50,000 High Roller title. Kenney currently stands at a 9th place in the global all-time money list of the most winning poker players. Kenney won the Aussie Millions Main Event just days after poker pro Cary Katz won the Aussie Millions A$100,000 Challenge for A$1,481,760.
Post his huge main event victory, the America’s ace poker pro – Kenney said, “I’ve had bigger wins than this. But it’s amazing to do it in this city. I’ve been having a good time with these people. It’s by far the most I’ve ever been asked to take a picture. It’s the best tournament stop in the world. During the summer here you just walk outside on break and it’s just nice here. I don’t have a complaint about it so I’d recommend anyone to come here next year – every year! It’s just a great stop!”
