Team India is doing pretty well in Las Vegas. After India’s ace player Raghav Bansal finishing 3rd at the final table of the Event #42: $ 600 Mixed No Limit Hold’em/Pot Limit Omaha Deepstack 8-Handed of the 2019 WSOP, it is Adda52 Team Pro – Nikita Luther who has made it to the FT in the WPT500 Main Event at the Aria Resort and Casino. The Delhi girl has bagged the third largest stack at the Final Table and is only behind Ben Farrell ( 7,350,000) and Sung Joo Hyun (7,275,000 chips).
For Luther, it is the 2nd FT at the WPT500 Main Event as the Delhi girl had finished 5th for $ 65,000 in the same event two years ago. Last year, she had created history by being the first Indian female to win a WSOP bracelet and she is now on her way of being the first Indian to win a WPT Aria title.
Luther had entered Day 2, headlining 4 Indians. She started Day 2 with 713,000 chips and she went on to chip up nicely building her stack. She managed a few eliminations and eventually made it to the top stacks among the final 9. She is holding the third largest stack at the FT with 6,700,000 chips, behind UK’s Ben Farrell (7,350,000 chips) and South Korea’s Sung Joo Hyun (7,275,000 chips).
Day 2 of this event saw four Indians. While Luther stacked up nicely and moved into the final table, the three other Indians Sanjay Taneja – (93rd for $1,500), Meherzad Munsaf – (83rd for $1,500) and Dhaval Mudgal – (54th for $2,700) could not carry their stacks to the FT but scored ITM finishes.
Each of the final tablists is currently guaranteed at least $14,000 in prize money and the $155,000 will go to the eventual champion. Holding the third largest stack at the FT, Luther will be eyeing the coveted title and the top prize of $155,000. The final table kicks tomorrow (2:30am IST, June 28) at the ARIA Resort & Casino.
