Canada’s Daniel Dvoress has won the Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas. The talented poker pro outlasted a strong field of 51 entries to win the $250,000 buy-in NLH tournament for his career-best score of $4,080,000. The score took his live tournament earnings to $15,230,748 and eventually placed him in the fifth place on the Canadian all-time money list, behind only the Canadian poker superstar – Daniel Negreanu ($42,024,086 ), Sam Greenwood, Tim Adams and Jonathan Duhamel.
Dvoress entered the FT in the middle of the pack but went on to win few crucial pots. He gained control when he picked off a bluff from Jason Koon early on. The former champion of the both Super High Roller Bowl and Super High Roller Bowl China – Bonomo (8th) was the first player to bust FT and he was eliminated by Wai Leong Chan who flopped trips with Ac 4c against Bonomo’s 7d 6c. The next eliminations from FT came in big guns – Jason Koon (7th) and Steve O’Dwyer (6th).
Up next, it was Seth Davies (5th) who got eliminated by Daniel Dvoress whose Q3 against K7 of Davies won him the hand on a Q9982 board. The next to follow was the eight-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel (4th) whose 76 lost to KJ of Dvoress. Following Seidel was Kathy Lehne (3rd) and he was busted by Wai Leong Chan who reached heads-up with Dvoress who held a 2:1 chip advantage.
Dvoress played well and was able to extend his lead by 8.5:1 chips by the time the final hand arrived. On the final hand, Chan shoved for 1.5 million with Jd 7h and Dvoress called with Ad 9d. The board ran 8h 7s 3h 10h 6s, giving Dvoress a straight to lock up the pot and the coveted title.
