One of the most popular events in the poker world – the 2020 Aussie Millions is in full swing at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. The 21-day long poker festival is currently hosting its much-awaited Main Event, which registered an impressive field of 820 entries across three starting flights, falling a few entries short of its last year’s field of 823. Top 88 finishers are assured a piece of the A$8,200,000 prizepool with a min-cash being A$ 15,580 and A$1,850,000 going to the champion.
The Main Event field is down to just 160 players after Day 2 and it is once again Day 2 chip leader Jordan Tentori (439,700) who will be leading into Day 3 play, which begins at 12:30 p.m. local time. Following him in second, third, fourth and fifth places include notable names like Shao Liu (410,000), Gareth Pepper (400,400), Terence Clee (389,300) and Day 1A chip leader Fabian Quoss (372,400).
Team India
To the delight of India poker community, there are three Indians returning for Day 3 and they are headlined by Paawan Bansal (355,800), a prolific casher from India with a massive $625,476 in live cashes. One of the most active players on the Indian poker circuit, Bansal has already won two prestigious live titles. He has plenty of WSOP cashes to his name, including a runner-up finish in The Closer at WSOP 2018 where he earned $378,765, his best score till date. Holding the 7th largest stack among the 160 returning players, he will be once again eyeing a big score today in the Main Event.
The other two Indians returning for Day 3 of the Main Event include Rishabh Vekaria (312,200) and Rahul Melwani (124,900). While Vekaria is in a good position to finish deep, Melwani, who has already won several prestigious live poker titles, is a very serious grinder and will be looking to chip-up and finish deep in the prestigious tournament. We wish them good luck at the tables!
