The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series is currently underway on WSOP.com. Seven tournaments are already in the books. The latest tournament to conclude was Event #7: $800 No-Limit Hold’em Knockout Deepstack that attracted an impressive field of 989 players, which resulted in a whopping $731,660 prize pool. After nearly 12 hours of intense battles, it was Joon “jykpoker” Kim who shipped it for a $103,127 in top prize, $3,000 in bounties, and his first gold bracelet.
Kim entered the final table with the second largest stack and went on to eliminate the likes of PokerNews Podcast co-host Jeff “mavsusc” Platt, “smallmytable”, Eric “circleball” Baldwin, and the eventual runner-up “bunsamillion,” to eventually his first gold bracelet and the top prize.
Kim began heads-up with a nearly 5:1 chip lead over “bunsamillion,” and it didn’t take long for him to clinch the title. On the final hand, Kim moved all-in with K-9, and “bunsamillion” who had Q-7 called with his last 2.80 Million. The board ran 2-K-5-2-A giving Kim top pair to win his first gold bracelet.
Sean “PetyrBaelish” Hegarty was the tournament bubble and he exited in 144th place. Some notable players to finish in the money were Layne “scoop87” Flack (13th for $4,486.10), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (33rd for $2,403.27), Jared “DarrensRabbi” Jaffee (56th for $1,495.36), Matt “RubberFist” Stout (80th for $1,228.33) and Brian “JackBogle” Altman (86th for $1,121.52). Also cashing the tournament was two-time WSOP bracelet winner Nipun “javanti” Java who eventually finished 103rd for $961.30.
