The Guinness World Record for the ‘Longest Continuous Poker Tournament’ was broken here today at the Resorts World Manila and in complete style. The previous record of 36 hours, 34 minutes and 41 seconds was beaten and a new one set of 46 hours with the crowning of Damon Shulenberger as the APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge Main Event Champion.
The APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge Main Event kicked off in Manila today with 115 entrants and at the time of going to press, this record attempting tournament had 21 survivors. The target of these poker pros is beating the current Guinness Record of 36 hours, 34 minutes and 41 seconds set at the Delaware Iron Man Poker Challenge last year. Czech Peter Konas had won this event.
Day 2 of the APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge marked the countdown to the record attempting Main event with two side events and APT reg Czar Ian Marcos winning a title. The $300 NL Hold’em Event was won by Marcos by defeating Japanese poker pro Iori Yogo.
The APT-RWM Iron Man Poker Challenge organised by Asian Poker Tour(APT) and Resorts World Manila(RWM) is aiming to enter the record books by breaking the current ‘Guinness World Records’ for the ‘longest continuous poker tournament’.
Czardy Rivera created a record of sorts when he won the 2013 APT Manila Main Event becoming the third Filipino poker player in 3 years to have taken the Manila leg title home. It was an all Philippines affair in the heads up battle as Rivera defeated Lester Edoc to win the top prize of PHP 4,270,000.
