The curtains on the grand opening of the new PokerStars LIVE Macau City of Dreams had gone up with the Macau Poker Cup(MPC) and came down yesterday after a superb ending to the Red Dragon Event. Terry Fan won an exciting final table defeating Gie Reyes of Philippines and took home a huge prize of HK$ 1,771,000.
The Taiwanese poker pro overcame a strong field of 891 poker players and had started the final table as chip leader. But Fanny Li of USA soon took control of a big chip stack hitting sets after sets and eliminated many players before falling off in sixth spot for HK$ 328,000. She was running full steam and showing poker players the door before her luck ran out.
Pocket Aces seemed to be the menace for many players on the final table with Sailesh Lohia, Fie Xie and Ryan Yu exiting when Pocket Rockets as their hole cards failed to consolidate. While it had taken 4 hours on the final day to reach the final table, it took around 7 more to crown the new winner in Terry Fan.
